About Hoop Lake Campground

Overview

Hoop Lake Campground is located 35 miles south of Mountain View, WY at an elevation of 9,000 feet. It’s located in the Uinta Mountains on the shores of its beautiful mountain lake namesake. Campers are drawn to the area to boat and fish in the lake and to hike or horseback ride on the many trails.

Recreation

This off-the-beaten path area is a kind of recreationists paradise, with boating and fishing in Hoop Lake, more fishing in nearby Beaver Meadow Reservoir, and trails galore. There is easy access to Hoop Lake trailhead, and access to the High Uintas Wilderness.

Facilities

Hoop Lake Campground is a remote campground with 44 single campsites each site has a picnic table and fire ring. Vault toilet facilities are available.

Natural Features

The campground is timbered and has great views of the lake with access for fishing and boating. There is plenty of sightseeing and wildlife watching for the numerous birds, elk, deer, moose, and beaver who frequent the area.
